Trapped in a trapped home.

Since March I have been locked in my home most days. This week has been different.

My wife and I are in the middle of three major fires in the bay area of California. Each day we see yellow out the living room window. It’s a odd feeling being even more stuck than we have been.

Normally we can go to the store and even drive down the coast if we are careful. Today like most days if we go out we have to wear a mask but today we have to wear a mask so we don’t choke on the air.

Here I have been avoiding people for fear that someone could infect me with a dangerous virus. Today the outside air is trying to kill me.

I am blessed. I have allergies. I have good air purifiers in the house so we can breath easily today. We have central air so we can stay comfortable in the heat without needing to open the windows.

It’s hard to feel sorry for yourself when others are suffering. People are losing their homes to fire. Firefighters are putting their lives in danger. People are dying and more will die because of the fires.

Today is yellow and maybe tomorrow but soon the air will clear. God save those in harm’s way.
